NEW YORK | Bring your kid to a Broadway show. It’s a real simple proposition. In foreign affairs, we say that cultural diplomacy works best one person at a time. You don’t need to fight wars or grapple with masses of people to make a world of difference, you only need to impact one person.
Well, that’s the same with the performing arts, especially theater. Even if it is that most commercial of creatures called Broadway.
The Broadway League announced that the 2013 KIDS’ NIGHT ON BROADWAY will take place from Monday, February 25, 2013 to Sunday, March 3, 2013. Tickets to participating shows are now available to the public. Theatre fans can join the Broadway Fan Club at BroadwayFanclub.com.
Here is how it works:
KIDS’ NIGHT ON BROADWAY is when kids ages 6 to 18 can see Broadway shows for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult. A KIDS’ NIGHT ON BROADWAY ticket includes free pre-theatre parties, restaurant discounts, parking discounts, educational programs, and more.
The 17th annual KIDS’ NIGHT ON BROADWAY will kick off in New York City with a pre-theatre party. At this party, you will get to meet TV personality Kelly Ripa and NFL star/sports broadcaster Michael Strahan, who agreed to be the national ambassadors for this year’s KIDS’ NIGHT ON BROADWAY.
KIDS’ NIGHT ON BROADWAY will also take place in multiple cities around the country, with different shows and venues putting their own spin on the event, on numerous dates throughout the year. Check kidsnightonbroadway.com for specific dates and locations.
So go ahead: Turn your kid on to Broadway. Change a life. Change the world.
