PARIS |  Founded in 1977 by Isabelle and Dominique Mauclair, the Festival du Cirque de Demain in Paris is about a passion. They imagined an exceptional event where, for the first time, young circus artists will have the opportunity to present their art to an international jury and curious and enthusiastic audience.

Now directed by Alain M. Pacherie, the Festival welcomes every year dozens of acrobats, tightrope walkers, clowns, jugglers and trapeze artists in Paris and confront their hopes and energies. The next festival takes place January 23 to 24, 2014.

The competition is open to artists of more than 16 years old and less than 25 years old (less than 30 years old for clowns). Some artists who are over the age limit may be accepted by the organizers under certain conditions.

In conformity with the French law, the artists who take part in the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain receive an honorarium fee which corresponds to the amount of days worked and to the minimum wage. It is indeed rather more a compensation than a real salary. For the Festival, it makes the participation fair and encourages the artists to come to Paris.Travels are also covered for the selected artists.

Deadline for applications: 31 October. To apply click here.
