NEW YORK CITY |  Could someone please tell these revelers and street parties the truth?  There’s no need to brave the Times Square crowd for New Year’s Eve 2017, as you can watch live stream all of the festivities from the comfort of home.

The event will be streamed live on TimesSquareNYC.org, NewYearsEve.nyc, Livestream.com/2017 and TimesSquareBall.net. Hell, you can also watch it on Android and Apple devices with the Times Square Ball App.

With all those options, what’s the glamour and joy being stuck inside roadblocks on West 53nd Street where you are more likely to spot big hairdos and winter hats — all of them bumping, grinding and overflowing blocks and blocks of sardined bellowers all the way down 42nd Street?

On TV, you can see/hear musicians Gavin DeGraw and Rachel Platten, along with rapper and songwriter Silento and upcoming artist Jojo Abot. Platten will continue the New Year’s Eve tradition of singing John Lennon’s “Imagine” just before midnight.

The TV shows will also tell the story behind the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration, which started in 1904. And you can join the entire rest of the world in this culture of New Year’s eve. One webcast last year was reportedly viewed by more than 3.6 million people from more than 200 countries, according to organizers. If that’s not a culture of one world, I don’t know what is.

Here are snapshots from tonight’s Times Square revelries where people are bound to not find any bathroom to relieve them of full bladders.

Well, there is that one other option: One dork I met at the wine shop stuffed his overcoat with bottles of liquor. I asked him how is he going to handle all that drinking when it is time to do the number 2. He probably will make money, too, from selling liquor to other tourists, parties and dorks who are being prevented by roadblocks from leaving their spot to buy more alcohol.

“Dude,” he told me, as he left, “I will do what I did last year. I peed into the empty bottles inside my coat.”  And so it goes. —rg
