NEW YORK, NY |  On December 3rd, the African Children’s Choir (ACC) will host their 4th annual New York City fundraising gala at the City Winery, located at 155 Varick Street (between Spring & Vandam Streets).

The Children will be joined by hosts Connie Britton (three-time Emmy nominee, “Friday Night Lights,” “American Horror Story” and ABC’s new TV hit “Nashville”), Carla Gugino (“Entourage,” “Spy Kids” and the new hit TV series “Political Animals”) along with a unique performance by Big Kenny (singer, songwriter, humanitarian, of country music’s superstar group Big & Rich).

Big Kenny will also be receiving a special award for his work in the Sudan.

Straight from their Christmas theatrical tour, the African Children’s Choir will be performing a segment of their new show “An African Christmas,” in which they share the warmth of what it’s like to celebrate Christmas in the villages of East Africa. The show features African traditional song and dance and some favorite carols and holiday tunes. This fundraising event promises guests an unforgettable evening that’s sure to lift spirits while supporting the African Children’s Choir as these ChangeMakers continue to raise global awareness of the plight of the orphaned and abandoned children and demonstrate the power of education.

Tickets for the event are available for purchase online at accnycgala.eventbrite.com.

About the ACC

The African Children’s Choir is made up of children from the poorest countries of the world who have lost one or both parents to poverty or disease. Since it’s inception in 1984 over 52,000 children have been educated through the efforts of the Choir’s programs and over 100,000 people have been helped through their relief and development programs throughout the 7 countries the organization serves.

Their voices have been heard by world leaders and top entertainers, and most recently, they performed the official Diamond Jubilee song “Sing” composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow at the most publicized event and celebration in the world, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. -rg
