Anna-Rebekah Orr, site editor, states that the goal of the ranking is to highlight schools that excel in their educational offerings to students considering the business disciplines either as a stand-alone pursuit or as a skill set intended to serve a broader ministry goal. Today’s global economy runs on business, both small and large. Global corporations and sole proprietorships impact both local and national economies. Christian colleges and universities are therefore in a position to provide an education in business that is shaped and informed by ethical concerns which will have a real impact on the world. Business professionals whose training has been grounded in high moral standards can be a force for good and shape corporate culture from within.
Orr goes on to say, “Corporate integrity has vast ramifications and the need for business leaders with good moral character is unquestionably important. While secular programs usually include some discussion of business ethics (both personal and corporate) within their coursework, business programs at Christian colleges and universities hold the bar even higher, asking bigger questions about the long-term purpose and value of a career in business.
A Christian academic environment typically strives to hold students and graduates to a high standard of biblical ideals– meeting and exceeding secular standards.
Students who are interested in an education that has the potential to shape them into servant leaders with a sustainable, constructive vision, will be inspired by business programs like the ones in this ranking. Christian colleges and universities offer an excellent opportunity for students to learn how to navigate the corporate world through the lens of integrity, character, and goals that align with faith and values.”
