NEW YORK CITY | Kim and William, a good-looking duo of fine New York singers, get top billing 7pm tonight, Dec. 8th, for the popular Cabaret Cares series. In addition to presenting great music, their evening doubles as a benefit for a good cause this Christmas.

Cabaret Cares, now in its 11th year, raises necessary funds to benefit Help Is On The Way Today, a grassroots nonprofit organization that helps and assists children and youth living with HIV and AIDS in New York City. So far, the MAC And Bistro Award winning series has raised upwards of $64,000.

Kim & William’s performance takes place at the Metropolitan Room, a high-end jazz venue, located at 34 West 22nd Street, NY. Doors open at 6pm. There is a two beverage minimum. Make reservations at (212) 206-0440.

Or get your tickets directly by visiting Metropolitan Room’s website.

Kim is Kimberly Reid Dunbar, and Bill is William Candelario. Their evening tonight, titled “Back to Basics,” marks a return to the stage. They’ve been committed to help to attract a good audience for the monthly charity series. Recently, for example, they performed at the Laurie Beechman Theater on Broadway.

A high-end cabaret and jazz club, Metropolitan Room has been a home for big-name talents and rising stars alike. It straddles the line between Manhattan’s Flatiron and Chelsea neighborhoods. The 115-seat Metropolitan Room, with an atmosphere reminiscent of the golden age of cabaret, brings the best in live music to New York City every night of the week.

Providing children, teens and youth with medical supplies, school supplies and holiday gifts, Help Is On the Way is working on scholarship and mentoring programs. The series has raised over $160,000 for the organization.

What’s lovely about the Dec. 8th performance of “Back to Basics” is that it’s the final act in Cabaret Cares’s longtime series.  So go. Let’s get back to live music basics with Kim & William. Catch their wave.
