Check this trailer yourself: A newly released and unrelated trailer teases an as-of-yet unannounced and untitled film. So what’s going on here?

A24 had a pretty good year. MOONLIGHT won Best Picture at the ACADEMY AWARDS. SWISS ARMY MAN was the bizarre-yet-charismatic film that saw Daniel Radcliffe playing a utilitarian corpse, and then there were the releases of the BAFTA-nominated American Honey, the Golden Globe-winning Moonlight, and the Golden Globe-nominated 20th Century Women.

In the video, we get some images of otherworldly technology and groups of people seemingly in the middle of a lot of complicated emotions. And that’s it. That’s what we’re getting here.

A24, the studio behind Ex Machina, Amy, Room, The Witch, and The Lobster, and Moonlight, just dropped this trailer for an upcoming science fiction film. It’s possible the trailer’s identity might be a maguffin. Nothing in A24’s current and previously announced lineup seems to match up with the tone and message of this traile5.

So perhaps this is our first introduction to either an all-new original film or possibly even a sequel to one of their earlier successes.

Your guess is as good as ours.
