DURHAM, N.C., March 15, 2023 /PRNewswire |   Is Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas the most beautiful Christian college/universities in the U.S.A.?

Good question.

Dallas Baptist University

In response, a leading Christian higher education resource, Christian Universities Online (http://www.christianuniversitiesonline.org/), has published a ranking of the 50 Most Beautiful Christian Colleges and Universities 2017.

This ranking gave consideration to schools that are members or member eligible of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). The following four categories were evaluated for each school: 1) continuity of campus; 2) architectural style; 3) signature building(s); and 4) natural setting. Equal weight was given to each category to compute the final scores.

Placing first in this ranking is Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas, followed by Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, in second place, and Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, in third.

Located in the modern metropolis of north Texas, Dallas Baptist University is home to over 3,000 undergraduates. Founded in 1898, DBU sits on a sprawling 293-acre, suburban campus. Featuring beautiful, classic revival architecture, one of DBU’s most stunning buildings is their Patty and Bo Pilgrim Chapel. A six year building project that was completed in 2012, the structure features in impressively beautiful, high church steeple. DBU’s campus is well laid out and fits well with its natural surroundings. Dotted with deciduous trees and shrubs, DBU’s campus is set against a wooded area and two lakes and O’Guinn Creek sit on opposite sides of the campus.

Anna-Rebekah Orr, site editor at Christian Universities Online, states that the goal of the ranking is to draw attention to the physical surroundings and aesthetic value of campuses- a feature that is sometimes downplayed in the college search process. “While not a primary criteria when selecting a school, campus beauty cannot be entirely ignored,” says Orr, adding, “The decision of where to pursue a degree includes the evaluation of many different criteria. Reputation of programs, graduation rate, total cost are factors that are always on the table, but it is not unwise for prospective students to take campus atmosphere into consideration.”
