NEW YORK:  A new short documentary film, entitled Cubanoson: The Story, which explores Papo Ortega’s Cubanoson, New York’s Cuban Orchestra, has just been released. And you can see it here.

Released by MeLu Films, Cubanoson:  The Story, is described as “a behind-the-scenes look at what makes this popular orchestra unique in the world of Latin music. The film features brief interviews with Cubanoson’s musicians; with music by Papo Ortega; as well as a live performance by Cubanoson of Guillermo Portabales‘ classic “El Carretero.”

The film is directed by Lucio Fernandez and produced by MeLu Films (www.MeLuFilms.com) in association with Cubanoson Productions (www.Cubanoson.com) and El Gitano Discreto Productions (www.JayGonzalez.info).

According to the filmmakers, the film is dedicated to all who love Latin music and particularly Cuban music.
